Obituary for Wayne Franklin Crisp
Wayne Franklin Crisp, 92, of 1961 Brownstone Court Gastonia, NC passed away peacefully in
his home on Friday March 17th, 2023.
He was born in Gaston County on December 10th, 1930 to Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin Crisp.
In 1961, Mr. Wayne Crisp founded and established the still operational Crisp Printers, Inc. on
Ozark Avenue in Gastonia. He leaves behind a local printing legacy. He was well known for his
love of the Lord, family, friends, carpentry, and Bluebirds. He will also be remembered for his
quick wit, wisdom, and passionate storytelling. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 72
years, Doris Caldwell Crisp—who passed away on June 15th, 2022. He is also preceded in
death by numerous brothers and sisters.
He is survived by daughter, Melody Crisp Teague and husband, Monty; grandson, Curt Teague
and wife, Kerri and children—Hank Teague, King Orvosh, and Maple Moonbeam Teague;
granddaughter, Shana Etherton and husband, Chris and children—Ryland Etherton, Hunter
Etherton, Zack Etherton and wife, Taylor and child—Lander. He is also survived by sister,
Wilma Pendleton; sister-in-law, Kathy Ballard and husband, Larry and son—Jonathon Ballard
and wife Christine, and children—Seth and Chloe.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday March 24th, 2023 at:
Flint Groves Baptist Church

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for monetary donations to be made to Flint Groves Baptist
Church where he was a faithful member, deacon, and usher for over seventy years.
