Vearl Gordon “Skip” Lawson, age 64, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Born in Garfield Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Marlin and Shirley Ann Sibit Lawson. Skip was a member of the American Legion post 243, and the UVA. He enjoyed fishing, cutting grass and being outdoors. Skip worked for the City of Gastonia for 14 years.

Skip is survived by his wife of 43 years, Amanda Williams Lawson; a son, Christopher Lawson and wife Kristi of Gastonia; a daughter, April Frampton and husband Brian of Gastonia; two grandchildren, Tyler and Jacob Millwood; a brother, Buddy Lawson and wife Kathy of Texas; sisters, Kim Lawson, Jan Allred, Lynn Anderson all of Alabama; and nephew, Harley Lawson.

Celebration of LIfe will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of A Simple Service Burial and Cremation with Pastor Joe Staley officiating.
