Stephen Cleo Screws, age 66 passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Born in Gaston County he was the son of the late Cleo and Fran Screws and Geneva Swanson Screws. He attended Yorkwood Church of God and most recently attended Life Church. Cleo worked from Morris Jenkins in Charlotte for many years. He enjoyed fishing and going to the beach, and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents and step mother, Cleo is preceded in death by a son, Matthew Evans; and a nephew Blake Robinson.

Cleo is survived by his wife of 26 years, Donna Owens Screws; two sons, David Screws (Kesha) of Newton and Jeff Evans of Asheville; four grandchildren, Aubrey Evans, Landon Evans, Draison Screws, and Tristan Morton; two sisters, Gale Entler (Ernie) of Gastonia and Toni Covington (Bill) of Gastonia; his mother-in-law, Kay Davis of Gastonia; two nephews and a niece; many cousins and special friends.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Life Church with Rev. Chris Kennedy officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
