Stephen James Quartier, age 66, died Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in North Carolina. Born in Syracuse, New York on June 21, 1957, he was the son of Catherine May Kuhn and the late James Owen Quartier. He went to CBA where he was on the wrestling team. Attended Pottsdam University and was English major and was active in the Prometheus Fraternity. He was in the Army and Reserves. He worked in the Family business from and early age. He worked for the Post Office in Syracuse for several years, then returned to the family business with his brother Tom until he retired. Moved to North Carolina to spend time with his wife, his books, and his music. Stephen loved spending time with nieces and nephews in activities such as fishing concerts and spending time at camp. He was an avid fisherman and baseball player and was on a baseball team with his brother and father. Stephen loved music and enjoyed collecting vinyl records and books. In retirement he continued to collect Vinyl and book from Estate sale.

In addition to his mother, Stephen is survived by his wife Carol Hutchins; ; step son, T. J. Zafar of Cramerton, NC; a brother, Tom Quartier and wife Patty Dewitt, NY; four sisters, Susan Hines and husband David of Fayetteville, NY, Lori Keevil and husband Chris of Tully, NY, Teri Burns and husband Tim of East Syracuse, NY, and Cathy Reed and husband Don of Jamesville, NY a host of loving nieces and nephews and other family.

Memorial service will be held:
Holy Cross Church in Dewitt; Calling hours 3:00 to 4:00 Mass at 4:00. There will be a Celebration of life at the Solvay Masonic Club 780 Woods Rd, Solvay NY. 13209 all are welcome.
