Obituary for Shirley Carol Anderson (Roney)
Shirley Carol Roney Anderson, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at her home. Born in Mobile, Alabama on March 20, 1958, she was the daughter of the late George Melton and Frances Marlene McManus Roney. Shirley was a member of South Gastonia Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, where she was the Associate Pastor. She enjoyed working with crafts and loved taking care of her family. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Brown.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 46 years, Elvis Anderson; two sons, Chadwick Anderson and wife Shelly of Bessemer City and Micheal Anderson of the home; three daughters, Chasity Hufton of Gastonia, Cristy Poteat of Clover SC, and Jaylan Anderson of the home; three brothers, Joey Roney and wife Cathy, Ricky Roney and wife Tracy, and Daryl Roney and wife Lori all of Lancaster SC; a sister, Cindy Roney and Ronnie of Lancaster SC; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren;
Memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, August 20, 2021 at South Gastonia Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Miller officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
