Sheldon Gardner Blanchard, age 88, died Friday, November 3, 2023 at home in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born in Concord New Hampshire on May 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Francis and Ruth Gillingham Blanchard. Sheldon graduated from Keene Teacher’s’ College in Keene, New Hampshire, where he met his wife Beverly. To advance his degree, Sheldon attended University of Maine, in Orono, Maine, Boston, College, in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and Charleston Southern University, in Charleston, South Carolina, Sheldon was a member of Nebo United Methodist Church in Nebo, North Carolina. He was a high school math teacher, eventually retiring from Hanahan High School, Hanahan, South Carolina, where he was head of the Math Department. Sheldon and his wife then moved to Bradenton, Florida, and enjoyed many happy years together there. In his free time Sheldon enjoyed wood working and spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored.

In addition to his parents, Sheldon is preceded in death by his son, Robert Blanchard, of Bradenton, Florida, sister, Dorothea Foss, of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, great grandson and Infant, Chance Healey, of Manchester, New Hampshire, sister-in-law, Linda Blanchard, of Willow, Alaska and daughter-in-law, Lois Blanchard, of Asheville, North Carolina.

Sheldon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Beverly Campbell Blanchard; two daughters, Susan Costantini and husband Steve of Charlotte, North Carolina, Shelley Stewart and husband Jerry of Morganton, North Carolina, brother Dexter Blanchard of Willow, Alaska, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family and friends
