Obituary for Scotty Joel Smith
Scotty Joel Smith, 72, of Belmont NC, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and business owner. He had a true passion for cars and motorcycles. Scotty was an automotive business owner of Gaston Muffler and Brakes in Belmont. He had many loyal customers who trusted him with their cars and trucks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Willie Oscar Smith, and Geneva Teede Smith.
Survivors include his girlfriend Peggy Kennedy; his four daughters Angela Tripp, Dara Jones, Carrie Giesey and Ashley Long. His grandchildren include; Jaylen, Annabel, and Adron.
Celebration services are planned for 4:00 pm Friday, December 3, 2021, at A Simple Service in Gastonia NC.
Donations in lieu of flowers will be accepted by the family and will be donated to multiple charities favored by Scotty.
