Sandra “Sandy” Schmoutz Poston, age 56 passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cleveland County on March 12, 1965 she was the daughter of the late Walter Harold and Joan Ruth Cue Schmoutz. Sandy was a devoted wife, loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She was always giving of herself and caring for others. Sandy had a wonderful smile and sense of humor.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Roosevelt Poston; a son, Kenny Poston and wife Brittany of Kannapolis; goddaughter, Jada Johnson of Shelby; sons, Frank Spikes and wife Lisa of Gastonia and Jeff Spikes of Shelby; a daughter, Pauline Spikes of Gastonia and Paulette Spikes of Gastonia; grandchildren; DeeDee, Layla, Brison Alex, Javaris Spikes, and Keisha Spikes; three sisters. Suzan Travis of Shelby, Lynda Roberts (Lynn) of Cope, S.C, Leslie Schmoutz of Belmont; one brother, Stephen Schmoutz (Patricia) of Shelby; nieces and nephews: Shannon Garrow (Steve), Ashley Weatherford, Ryan McNeil (Gabby), Melissa Aymex (Blake), Grace Schmoutz, Annabella Schmoutz, Cole Schmoutz; special cousin, Clay Schmoutz and wife Cheryl of Pittsburg; special family friends, Shanae Witherspoon and Brandon Laton; and a host of other nieces, nephews and other loving family.
