Ruth M. Hunter, 88, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019. She was born April 4, 1931, in Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Samuel Harper Mothershed and Fanny Robertson Mothershed.
Mrs. Hunter was born and raised in Lancaster and was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church from birth. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of the community with her food.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by her husband, C.B. Hunter; son, Kenneth Ray Hunter and his wife Phyliss; sister, Frances M. Adams and her husband Randolph; grandchildren, Kelly Clark and her husband Rev. Patrick Clark, Jeremy Hunter and his wife Wendy, and Ashley Clark; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Bruce Hunter and his wife Trudy, and grandchildren, Cecil Bruce Hunter, Jr. and Jason Grant Hunter.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Saturday, August 24 at Camp Creek Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 11 am in the sanctuary officiated by Revs. Patrick Clark and Keith Walters.
A Simple Service Burial and Cremation is serving the Hunter family.
