Obituary for Russell Gerhard Rucker
Russell Gerhard Rucker, 80, of Gastonia, N.C passed away on Nov. 17, 2021. Born in Chicago, Russ was the son of the late Charles and Elsie Rucker.
Russ proudly served in the United States Air Force. He retired from Verizon after 25 years, and also owned his own HVAC company. Russ was a beloved member of Union Presbyterian Church of Gastonia. He had numerous interests including horses, farming, and woodworking but his greatest joy was helping others. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife Deanna of 32 years, sister Pat Brazell, children Kelly McMillan, Lisa Leesch and Dale Smith as well as grandchildren, Kirsten, Timothy, Glen, Michael and Garret; great grandchildren Whitney, Nevan and Selene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Lee and daughter Kristine.
Memorial service will be held at Union Presbyterian Church 5615 Union Rd. on Dec 4th, 2021,at 11:00 am
