Obituary for Ronald Preston Eads

Ronald Preston Eads of Gastonia, North Carolina left this world peacefully for Heaven on June 7, 2022 at the age of 73 after a long battle with kidney disease. He spent his final weeks surrounded by family, celebrating a life well-lived.

Ron was born on October 17, 1948 in Greensboro, NC. He had a strong work ethic and joined his father’s company as a teenager and worked alongside him throughout college. Ron was the first man in his family to graduate college and continued in the family business throughout his life – passing along his commitment to education and hard work to all four of his children. He transformed the family business into a Christian-based consulting firm where he improved business performance and shared the beliefs and morals that guided his life.

At age 24, Ron met the love of his life, Gail Senn, when she was his ballroom dance instructor. Ron and Gail’s romance blossomed over the next 2 years and led to 47 wonderful years of marriage. Ron and Gail spent those 47 years loving their roots in ballroom dancing and creating a loving and supportive family. Ron cared deeply for his family and spent his entire life making sure that his family was loved and supported in every possible way. Faith and family were the guiding principles of his life and were what made him such a wonderful Christian, husband, and father.

Ron will be deeply missed by his loving wife Gail Eads; children Tanya (Wayne) Finley, Michael (Stephaine) Eads, Shannon (Brandon) Caudle, Kevin (Allison) Eads; and his grandchildren Morgan Finley, Lily Eads, Nathan Finley, Everly Eads, and Natalie Caudle; as well as his sisters Linda (Larry) Sullivan and Jeanette Eads. He was preceded in death by his father Wayne Oather Eads, mother Marcella Eads, and sister Shirley Eads.

One of Ron’s greatest gifts was his unwavering positivity. He met every challenge with kindness and grace. It was impossible to be discouraged after talking to Ron, and his life should be an inspiration to us all for how to handle difficult situations. If we all approached life like Ron Eads, there would be much less sadness in the world.

A “Celebration of Life & Memorial Service” will be held on June 11, 2022 at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church (1621 E Garrison Blvd, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054) with a reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Gastonia. First Presbyterian Church-Giving
