Rita Faye Underdown, age 62, died on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Atrium Cabarrus. Born in Gaston County on February 29, 1960, she is the daughter of the late Clarence Alvin and Lucille Alma Young Underdown. Rita enjoyed gardening and doing crafts. She loved her animals, including her canine companion, “Buddy”. In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Underdown, Ronnie Underdown, Darrell Underdown; three sisters, Rachel Hadden, Patsy Holler, and Vicki Bradshaw.

Rita is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Glenn and husband Thomas Glenn (Army Veteran) of Winnsboro SC; a son, Dustin Underdown; companion of 29 years, Mark Galloway; two brothers, Alvin Underdown of Gastonia, and Clarence Underdown Jr and wife Dora of Gastonia: two sisters, Sylvia Sain and Dennis of Gastonia, and Glenda Gregory of Gastonia; sister–in-law, Tammy Underdown of Clover; brother-in-law, Terry Holler of Gastonia; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and other family.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10:00am in the chapel of A Simple Service Burial and Cremation. The family will receive friends following the service
