Obituary for Rickie Allen Bush

Rickie Allen Bush, 71, of Lowell, went home to be with the Lord on May 30, 2019. Rick loved life and lived it to the fullest. His passion was being a dad to his three children, grandpa to his three grandchildren and great grandpa to his first great grand daughter. He loved a good game of golf with his son, son in law and his good friends. He was a very competitive golfer and thrived to beat everyone he played with. He also loved to travel to the beach camping with his family. Rick was a political man and he loved his city of Lowell. He never met a stranger and enjoyed socializing with the citizens of Lowell. He served on the Lowell City Council for 16 consecutive years. He was on the Zoning and Planning Board for 3 years. He also served on the Beautification and Recreational committees .Rick was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Mt. Holly. He retired from Clairant Corp after 26 years. He is survived by his wife Joyce of 52 years, daughters Tracy Walts (Jim) of Oak Island, NC, Cissy Usery (Kevin) of Lowell, son Nicholas Bush (Ashley) of Gastonia, Grandchildren Brandon Usery, Ashton Kelly and Riley Bush, great-grand daughter Maevery Usery, sister Becky Sherrill and his little dog and companion Sassy.
A visitation service will be held on Sunday, June, 2nd from 4pm - 6pm at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Mt. Holly, NC. A memorial service will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the youth department of the First Free Will Baptist of Mt. Holly or to the Tri-County Animal Rescue in Alexis, NC.
The family would like to thank Palliative/Hospice for their excellent care of Rick, also Lori Sosobee, our neighbors, family and church family for your support and prayers.
