Obituary for Pattie Sue Chambers (Henegar)

Pat Henegar Chambers, 95, of 1945 Villagewood Court, Gastonia, NC 29054 died on
May 17, 2023. Born September 5, 1927, she was a native of Pulaski, Tennessee. Daughter of the
late Hortense R. and Harold E. Henegar. Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Dr. Robert E.
Chambers of the home; sons Terry of Durham, NC; Randy and wife Anna of Belmont, NC; Scott
and wife Jan of Gastonia, NC; Todd and wife Henriette, Columbia, SC; grandchildren Rusty and
wife Shannon Chambers of Vista, CA; Randall and husband Wesley Hoyle of Brevard, NC;
Kierstin Chambers of Charleston, SC; sister-in-law Patty Chambers of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-
in-law Gloria Patton of Villa Ridge, MO; and numerous dear cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Pat attended Girls County High School in Pulaski, TN, and graduated from Stephens College in
Columbia, TN, class of 1946, and The University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK in 1948. She was a
member of the First United Methodist Church of Gastonia, NC; a former member of The Junior
League; First United Methodist Women’s; First United Methodist Builders Sunday School Class;
Gaston Memorial Hospital Volunteers; and Gaston County Medical Society Auxiliary.
A visitation service will be held at Covenant Village on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 5:00 pm. In
addition, a memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Gastonia, on
Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 5:00 pm.
