Odessa Dianne Johnson Messer, age 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday,
November 22, 2022 at The Greens of Gastonia. Born in Gaston County on December 19, 1947,
she was the daughter of the late Edgar Woodrow and Ethel Jenkins Johnson. Odessa
enjoyed working in the store at the Greens, rocking on the front porch, helping others, and
watching sports with Johnny. In addition to her parents, Odessa is preceded in death by her
brothers David Glen & Henry Ray Johnson.      
Odessa is survived by two daughters, Donna Mullins of Oklahoma City, OK, Sharon
Messer of Chandler Arizona, and a son, Rick Messer of Chandler, Arizona;
siblings Edgar Junior Johnson and wife Linda Johnson; grandchildren Kayla Mullins &
Chandler Ragucci; great grandchildren JB Altman; and nephews Chris Johnson, Eddie
Junior Johnson & Joshua Glenn Johnson.
