Obituary for Neal Calvin Terry
Neal Calvin Terry, 62, of Gastonia, NC passed away on July 30, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, following a period of declining health. Neal was courageous in facing life challenges and faced them with a smile. Despite the pain he stayed strong and fought until the end.
Neal was born August 31, 1959 to the late George and Florie Terry.
Neal was a very outgoing person and never met a stranger. He loved watching old western movies and had a love for collecting and selling scrap metal since he had become disabled. He loved using the money he made to buy toys for the children in his neighborhood. If you know the “old Neal”, you know that he has changed his life in the last 10 years. He wanted to make better choices in life, and he was saved so that he could enter the gates of Heaven with his family and friends who passed before him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Joyce Boone, Yvonne Bridges, Rosa Lee Brazzell and Vicky Lee.
Those left to cherish his memory include his very special brother, David Terry and sister in law Karen Terry, that stayed by his side and helped him preserve his dignity and failing health with courage. Neal is also survived by his Daughter, Rhonda Smith and husband Mikel, Granddaughters Chelsea and Amber Smith, Great Granddaughter Caroline Martin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at A Simple Service Burial and Cremation located at 451 Hospital Dr. Gastonia, NC 28054.
