Nancy McKibben Wilson- June 29, 1932 - November 5, 2020
Nancy McKibben Wilson of Stanley, NC died November 5, 2020 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was 88 years old. Her husband of 65 years, Tony Wilson was by her side throughout her illness. She was born June 29, 1932 in Schenectady, NY to Wayne E. and Viola Dicus McKibben.
In 1954, Nancy received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics from Michigan State University, where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta. Nancy and Tony married on June 5, 1955 in Euclid, Ohio. They had four children, and they lived in Ohio, North Carolina, New York, California, and Colorado. Nancy worked as a librarian, a hospital secretary, and with the University of CO parking services. She considered caring for her family her most important occupation, and was loved by family and friends, especially when sharing her remarkable baked goods.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marian, her eldest son Derek, and a baby son. Along with her husband Tony, she is survived by sister Patricia McKibben Mansperger, son Greg Wilson, and daughter Jenny Wilson Roberts. In addition, Nancy was much loved as Grandma to Meghan Wilson Gregory, Timothy Roberts, Matthew Wilson, Kevin Roberts, and David Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Gaston Hospice of NC or the Alzheimer's Association.
