Myrtle Messer McCuen, age 90 died Friday, August 13, 2021 at Courtland Terrace in Gastonia, of natural causes. Born in Gaston County on October 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Dock Harrison and Linda Leona Messer. In addition to her parents, Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband Jack Douglas McCuen; a brother, Paul Messer; seven sisters, Frances Messer, Edith Bradford, Arizona Buchanan, Obera Wilkerson, Beatrice Putman, Bertie Wylie and Colleen Hargett; and a grandson, Joey Faile.

Myrtle is survived by two daughters, Jackie Starnes and Faye Roddie Reiner; three sons, Toney McCuen, Bruce McCuen and Keith McCuen; 10 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.

Private service will be held at a later date.
