Obituary for Minnie Lou Queen (Baynard)

Minnie Lou “Lucy” Baynard Queen passed away June 27th, 2021 in Shelby, NC. She was born April 23, 1945 in Ellenboro, NC to the late Walter Bates Chivous Baynard and Claudia “Claudie” Terry Baynard. Lucy’s occupations ranged from being a waitress to being a Big Rig Truck Driver. She had many talents in life, some would say her greatest would have been her ability to make everyone smile, no matter the circumstances. She loved her family immensely. She believed that Jesus Christ died for her sins. Now that her earthly battle has been fought, her family can take comfort in knowing she is at his throne of mercy. Including her parents she is preceded in death by her eldest daughter Kimberly Johnson Blattau, two sisters Geraldine Baynard Shalp and Nancy Elizabeth Baynard, and one brother Jesse Lee Baynard.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kristy Johnson Edwards and significant other, Todd Maples; her grandchildren, Patricia, Wayne, Josh and Amanda; a number of great grandchildren; two brothers Lenard Baynard of Bessemer City, NC and Earl (Ava) Baynard of Dallas,NC and her baby sister Doris (Joe) Stevens of Walnut Cove, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
