Obituary for Michael Joey Townsend
Michael Joey Townsend, age 65, died at his home on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Born in Gaston County on September 5, 1956, he was the son of the late T. R. Townsend Sr and Dot Gainey Townsend. Michael is preceded in death by a brother, Roger Townsend.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 35 years, Nancy Carver Townsend; three daughters, Brandy Townsend, Megan Martin and husband Kenny, and Amber Townsend all of the home; four sisters, Ruth Milwood, Ruby Roland, Lisa Kiser and husband Jeff, and Sandra Townsend; two brothers, Bobby Townsend and wife Vickie and Rev. James Townsend and wife Debra; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:00 am in the chapel of A Simple Service Burial and Cremation. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
