Obituary for Michael David King

A much-loved father, grandfather, and brother, Michael “Mike” David King, 75 of Charlotte, NC and Sturgis, SD passed away peacefully at his home with his son present in Charlotte, NC on October 19, 2020 after fighting his battle with heart disease and leukemia. He was born, June 5, 1945 in Gaffney, SC. He attended Clemson University as an engineer major and was a dedicated member of the United States Airforce as an Aircraft Mechanic. After serving in the military, his second career consisted of being a plant manager for a family-operated business, Consolidated Screen Makers, in Dalton, GA.
He is survived by his son Donnie King of Dalton, GA and daughters, Debbie Roper of Dalton, GA, Julie Allen of McDonough, GA, Michelle Estes of Show Low, AZ, and granddaughters Stephanie Allen of McDonough, GA and Sylvia Peters of Dalton, GA, and sister Teresa Randall of Charlotte, NC, and brother Gerald “Buzz” King of Charlotte, NC and many other nieces and nephews.
Mike enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life including golfing with his buddies and taking joy rides on his Harley and living his best life in SD.
