Obituary for Marion "Hut" William Brown

Marion (Hut) Brown entered Heaven's gates on March 21, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonita. They lived in Clover, SC. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashley Polkinghorn, of Gastonia and his son-in-law, Jeff Harvey of Wilmington, NC. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Annie Brown, of York, SC and his brother, Jim Brown.
He is survived by his children, Terry Williams (Ricky) of Clover, Sc, Donna Harvey, of Wilmington, NC, Kelly Brown (William) of Gastonia, NC and Tim Brown (Lora) of Clover, SC. Other survivors include his eight grandchildren; Mark Brown, Ricky Williams, William Harvey, Candi Williams, Wendy Harvey, Lauren Finger, Crystal Warren and Amanda Coffee. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren; Riley Polkinghorn, Aaliyah Williams, Cannon Gilroy, Dylan Williams, Savannah Barnes, Miley Barnes, Bradley Coffee, Dillon Coffee and Nikolas Towery.
He is also survived by his brothers, Tom Brown of Bluffton, SC and Roger Brown of Gaffney, SC; his sisters, Peggy Summers of Rock Hill, SC, Pat Brewington of Union, SC and Kathy Allman of Myrtle Beach, SC.
"Hut" retired from Parkdale Mills after working there for forty plus years. He was an overhauler or fixer. While there, he was a member of the mill's softball team as well as their bowling league. Other hobbies included horseshoes, putt-putt, shooting pool, and fishing. Later in life, he took up golf and cornhole. He was a man who loved participating in these sports and was very good at them all, Over the years, he won many trophies.
Hut attended church with his wife at Bethel Baptist in Lake Wylie, SC. He was a man who never seemed to meet a stranger and was loved by all he met. He will truly be missed.
