Marilyn Joann Vance, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Caromont Regional. Born in Gaston County on May 27, 1954, she was the daughter of the late John Samuel and Lillie Aldridge. She took great pride in her daughters and grandchildren, she was proud that her daughters grew up to be excellent girls. In addition to her parents, Joann is preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and John Aldridge Jr.; two sisters, Joyce Rick and Judy Hallman.

Joann is survived by her husband of 47 years, Arnold Vance; two daughters, Kelly Lott and husband Dale of Springwood, and Melissa Nolen and husband Darrell of Belmont; five grandchildren Kyle Cabe, Blake Lott, Jordan, Austin, Hannah Nolen; special sisters-in-laws, Dot Vance and Lucy Holden; her canine companion, “Little Man”.
