Obituary for Maatia Maria Magdalena (Bell)

Maatia Maria Magdalena passed away on August 25, 2021, due to COVID-19 in Charlotte, NC. Maatia was born Michelle Ann Bell, in Peoria, Illinois on March 18, 1951. Maatia was daughter to the late Bobby G. Bell and the late Patricia Ann Bell. She worked at Wells Fargo Bank in Charlotte as a Business Application Analyst and Office Manager for Wonder World Film & Video. She worked at Copperweld Steel Company for many years while living in Warren, Ohio.
Maatia is survived by her daughter Michelle Ann Ewing (husband Todd) and grandchildren Jeremiah Ewing, Rebekah Ewing, Daniel Ewing, Samuel Ewing, and Isaiah Ewing, all of Fuquay-Varina, NC. She is also survived by three sisters, Bridgett Bell Langson (husband Seth) of Charlotte, NC, Barbara Bell Hinson (husband Louis) of Longs, SC, and Suzanne Bell Rankin (husband Daniel) of McAdenville, NC.
Maatia loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed reading and classic movies.
Special thanks to the staff on the COVID ICU unit at Atrium Health University City Hospital for all the wonderful and compassionate care provided to Maatia.
A graveside service will be held September 25,2021. The family respectfully requests those in attendance to wear face masks and practice social distancing, including those that are fully vaccinated.
