Lewis Albert Schneider Jr passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2019. He was at home and surrounded by family. Lou was born February 24, 1943 in New York to Madeline Cannon and Lewis Schneider Sr. He was raised on a farm with his siblings. Lou served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1968. He was a member of the Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department Engine Co 1 from 1962-2001. He married the love of his life, Hara Sue Wooster, in 1964. Lou was widowed in 2013. Lou loved old cars, car shows, his cat, his friends and his family. Lou suffered from COPD for the last 10 years. He is survived by his sister Marylin (John), brother Billy (Susan), son Kevin (Liz), daughter Kandie, son Keith (Bobbie) and seven grandchildren; Kashmir (Jeremy), Nick (Jessica), James, Aurora, Keaton, Olivia and Holden.
A memorial service will be held in Charlotte on Monday, January 14th at Sunset Road Baptist Church (2317 Sunset Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216). The family will have Receiving of Friends from 6-7pm with the Memorial Service immediately following.
A second memorial service will be held in New York on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 2pm to 6pm at
