Lewis Allen Curl Jr.
A gathering of Angels appeared above his head, They sang ton him this song of HOPE and this is what they said; They said "Come sail away, Come sail away."
On July 7, 2019, Lewis Allen Curl Jr. sailed away. With his daughter, Angela Curl Somoskey and his son, Lewis Allen Curl III by his side. He is also survived by two brothers and two grandchilkdren but was loved by many.
He was born in Washington, DC on March 12, 1956; something he was proud of. In 1973 he heard the call of the seas. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served his country proudly and honorably for six years.
He lived, loved and laughed. So all that knew and loved him say, " Go sail away Lewis, go sail away.
There will be a memorial party July 20th at Comfort Suites on Remount Road in Gastonia from 3 to 7.

Uncle Lewis,
It seems just like yesterday when you took all of us fishing at Cherry Grove. You had your hands full with us knuckleheads. So thanks for making some memories with me that I'll have forever. And thanks for not being to hard on us when we took the crab traps up from the river. Gonna miss ya !!!

I only really knew Uncle Lewis when I was young, but in that time he made such a big impression on me that I will never forget him. He was always so fun to be around and brought a positive attitude to everything. He will certainly be missed by me and anyone else who ever had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in Peace Uncle Lewis!

I have a lot of wonderful memories of Uncle Lewis! He was always so much fun and very sweet. Every time I hear Free Bird I will think of him and how we used to dance in the kitchen and play air guitar and drums to it! He will be missed! Rest in Peace Uncle Lewis!
