Obituary for Laura Elizabeth Mews (Mauney)
Laura “Libby” Mews, 88, passed away peacefully in the care of Gaston Hospice at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas on June 4th.
Born October 3rd, 1932, she is the daughter of the late Abram Zay Mauney and the late Grace Pearline Franklin.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Lucille Greene. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years James E. Mews.
Libby was a strong Christian woman that lived by her faith. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, listening to gospel music and spending time with family.
She is survived by her sister Brenda Buckner, children Kathy and her husband Mark, Janet, Steve, Scott and wife Ginger. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, one special friend, Chris Burke and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 9th at 2:00pm at Gaston Memorial Park.
