Kenneth Alan Carson 74, or Bucky as most called him, passed away on September 21, 2019 with his family at his side in Shelby, North Carolina. The son of Kenneth S. Carson and Ruth M. Gray (Allen), he was born in Cooperstown, NY on October 27, 1944. He was employed by the Cooperstown Central School district and retired in 1999 after serving 34 years as transportation supervisor. Bucky was extremely proud of his decades for service with the Hartwick Fire Department Co#2 as well as his work as a 911 dispatcher of the Otsego County Fire Control Center. Ken will be sorely missed by his wife Marta, his 3 children and their families; Tami, Kenneth Jr. and Stephen, stepson Jason, sisters Madeline Socci and Christine Gray, his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. He was predeceased by Florence, his wife of 48 years, his brother Theodore, and stepson Mathew Francis. A short memorial service will be held on September 28, 2019 at Council Rock Park on Lake Street in Cooperstown, NY at 12:30 pm. A reception will follow at the Hartwick FD Co. # 2 Fire House 4877 State Highway 28 Cooperstown, NY.
