John Paul Claprood, age 30, died Thursday, December 7, 2023 in Dallas NC. Born in Gaston County on December 14, 1992 he was the son of Kristy Elaine Baldwin of Gastonia. John was a kind, loving, resourceful, and vibrant young man who never met a stranger. His smile could light up even the darkest of rooms. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, and doing whatever he could to help out the next person even if it meant he went without, aside from that he enjoyed watching and playing football, as well as listening to music.

In addition to his mother Kristy Baldwin, John is survived by siblings, Kristen Cline, Lilly Baldwin, & Jesse Baldwin; His Aunt Shirley and Her husband James Nixon; His Uncle Ronald Burnette and his wife Selinia Burnette; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of A Simple Service Burial and Cremation. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm
