In the early morning hours of November 6, 2023, James Chad Rush, age 56 went
home to be with his Heavenly Father and earthly father. Chad was a quiet man of
reflection who loved his family, fishing, NASCAR, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was
a kind man and a loyal friend who had the ability to fix just about anything and
would help anyone in need. Chad was a gentle soul, but you knew where you
stood with him. He was a proud employee of Gastonia Newell Brands.
Chad was predeceased by his precious son, Jacob, and his father Robert James
Rush. Those left behind to cherish Chad’s memory are his fiancé, Karen Heston,
Sons Joshua Chad and Drake Robert Rush, his mother and stepfather Nellie and
Don Coleman, sister and brother-in-law Angela and Scott Davis, Stepmother Julia
Rush, and granddaughter Alaina. Chad also loved and nurtured Karen’s children
Ariel, Kaylee, and Noah and their children Kylie and Jayden, along with nieces
Summer (DJ), Paisley, and Chantele (Jacob) Hamrick.
The family is appreciative of the calls, texts and messages of love and support
received over the last few days. Memorials in Chad’s name may be made to
