Obituary for Freddie Lamar Helton
Freddie Lamar Helton, age 75, died Friday, June 2, 2023 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. Born in Mecklenburg County on December 2, 1947, he was the son of the late Fred Junior and Ruth Ann Williamson Helton. Freddie was a member of the Baptist Faith. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Freddie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Sigmon Helton; a son, Rodney Helton and wife Sherry of Mt. Holly; a daughter, Becky Jordan and husband Robbie of Gastonia; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 stepsons, Kelly Faile and wife Vanessa of Dallas, Richard Faile and wife Melissa of Oak Island, Michael Faile and wife Deanna of Belmont, Joe Faile and wife Karen of Charlotte, and Matt Faile and wife Debbie of Lancaster SC; a brother, Larry Helton and wife Faye of Lincolnton; and a nephew, Ryan Helton of Lincolnton.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of A Simple Service Burial and Cremation. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
