Obituary for Fred Eugene Hayes
Fred Eugene Hayes, age 78, of Mt Holly, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. He was born June 27, 1943 in Gaston County to the late Eloise Mulkey Rhyne and Fred William Hayes.
A memorial service will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at A Simple Service in Gastonia.
He is survived by his girlfriend of 19 years, Sylvia Hellard; son, Daniel E. Hayes Sr. (Cathy); daughter, Wendy Hayes Amerson (Brad); son, Robert W. Hayes; bonus daughter, Amanda Kenney (Frank); bonus daughter, Melinda Tilley (Keith); 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; sister, Geraldine Lee (Robert); and a nephew, Dennis Lee (Patty). He was preceded in death by his son, Brian K. Hayes; 2 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild.
