Gene Wilson "Wiener" age 65 passed away at home on September 26, 2019. He was the son of the late Flay Cleaton Wilson and Thelma Juanita (Lawing) Wilson. Gene is preceded in death by his wife Deborah Wilson. He is survived by his sister Unity Arena (Wilson) Horton (Junior), his son Preston Wilson (Amanda) and grandchildren Alissa Bailey and Hayden Wilson, step-children Mary Hallbrook (Jimmy), Dwayne Justice (Diane), Angela Pruitt (Nathan), step-grandchildren Jessica Justice, Christopher Hallbrook, and Jimmy Wayne Hallbrook, Sean and Alyssa Pruitt, and special friends Evon, Robin, Scotty, and Patrick. Gene was born, raised, and spent his life in Gaston County. He worked refinishing floors for the Gunn family for many years. Gene had a lot of friends and never met a stranger. He loved spending time at the dirt track races and with friends and family. A memorial service will be held by the family at Destiny Church, 3723 York Highway, Gastonia, NC 28052 on Monday, October 7th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
