Obituary for Charles Linwood Martin Jr.

Charles "Chuckie" AKA "PawPaw Chuckie" Linwood Martin, 53, of Lowell, gained his Heavenly wings on July 29, 2022 surrounded by ones that he loved. He was born in Gaston County on February 8, 1969, to the late Charles Linwood Martin Sr. and Violet "Diane" Stacey Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by his brother, Charlie "Woo" Martin.
Chuckie was a hardworking man, whom when not working, found all of his joy in spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He would proudly take every punishment for feeding his "babies" every sweet, and every animal the scraps from his plate. When he was around, you were going to have a good time. Whether through song, dancing, or his "jokester" type personality.
He loved his wife Toni with every part of his being, and he often showed that by gifting her flowers, whether store bought or hand picked. He never missed an opportunity to leave her a love note to remind her of his love, he loved her everyday, until his last day.
To know Chuckie, was to love him, as he danced away with every strangers heart, and left an everlasting impact on any one that had the opportunity to meet him. He would give the shirt off of his back, or his last meal to any one in need. Simply put, he just had a warmth about him that would leave you better than you were before you met him.

Those left to cherish his memory alongside wife Toni of 35 years, includes his daughters, Tammy Gibson and husband Phillip, Tonya Pickelsimer and boyfriend Jason Swayney, Billie Pickelsimer, Tabby Morton and husband Ray; grandchildren Danielle and husband Jason, Christopher and fiance Natasha, Christina and husband Shane, Jonathan, David, Billy and girlfriend Ariana, Kadin, Madison, and Kaylynn, great-grandchildren Brentley, Braelyn, Charles, Maddox, Paisley, Bradley, and Waylon; sister in law Bobbie Penley and fiance Steve Richardson; siblings Lynn Houser and husband Darren, Chris Martin and wife Annette, and Tracey Martin; 4 nieces and 2 nephews; 2 great nephews and 1 great niece.
