Chad D. Hipkins, 45, of Charlotte NC, passed away after a courageous fight with Cancer on October 26, 2018 at the Brian Center in Gastonia surrounded by his loving family and friends. Chad was born in Worcester, Ma in 1972 and grew up in Hubbardston, MA. He graduated from Independence High School in Charlotte in 1991. He worked in the transportation industry for many years and was a seasoned traveler having visited the lower 48. Chad was an avid cyclist and a proud member of the Crank Mafia which raises money for cancer research. He was also a collector of old classic toys and enjoyed board games and discussing the mysteries of the universe. He was a tender man with a big heart and always loved being around friends and family.
Chad leaves behind his daughter Paige Hipkins of Charlotte, his parents Glenn and Carolyn Hipkins of Dallas, NC and a brother, Craig Hipkins also of Dallas, along with his nephew, Robbie Hipkins of Tampa FL, and many other family members and friends. His brother Jay Hipkins passed away in February 208. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 3 at 11am. at A Simple Service funeral home in Gastonia
