Obituary for Carolyn Scott Brown (Ramsey)

Carolyn Ramsey Mohr Brown went peacefully to her Lord and Savior on Sunday Morning April, 2, 2023 at the age of 95. Born on September 24, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Joseph Clinton and Carrie Reynolds Ramsey.

Carolyn began working at Beveridge Reneedling Company in Gastonia as a teenager and worked there over the years. After marrying and moving to Detroit Michigan for 23 years, the family of four moved back to her hometown of Gastonia where she and her husband Fred Mohr established and operated Superior Reneedling company until his death in 1976. Carolyn was a longtime member of the Eastern Star, Lorraine Chapter, and the Judeah Shrine. She was a lifelong member of Loray Baptist Church but attended New Hope Baptist Church, with her husband, Lee Brown, until his death. In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Brown, Fred Mohr, the father of her two sons; sisters, Frances Blanton, Sue Walyers, Jean Huffstetler; and sister-in-law, Joyce Dale.

Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Scott Mohr and wife Sheila of Gastonia and Fritz Mohr; Grandchildren, Autumn Mohr (Seth), Caroline Helms (Dustin), Joe Mohr, Elizabeth Burchell, Amanda Hodge (Jason); Great Grandchildren, Addyson Brown, Remi Canipe, Sophia Mohr, Elias Helms, McCoy Tant, Ellis Tant, Kara Marshburn, Anderson Tant; sister, Nancy Pierce; Sister-in-law, Ann Beckham; and many well loved nieces and nephews,.

Carolyn’s legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of all who knew and loved her as the kind loving person she was, totally devoted to the well being of her family and those she held dear.
