Obituary for Betty Hazel Seigle (Stanley)

Betty Hazel (Stanley) Seigle, 93, of Gastonia North Carolina passed away peacefully on the afternoon of December 9, 2023 at Morningside of Gastonia. Betty was a "Coal Miner's Daughter" born to Draxie (Kerr) Stanley Slone and Otis Stanley, she was the oldest of ten. She was born in Dunleary, Ky and moved to Detroit, Michigan where she met her husband, Harold and they owned the Chatterbox Bar. She later moved to Maryland and became the best homemaker. Betty loved her family, being a wife and mother, the neighborhood kids, sweets and Steve Harvey. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, of over 50 years, Harold Arthur Seigle, her parents, Draxie and Otis Stanley and the only daddy she knew, Otis Slone. Also her brothers Jimmy Blake Slone and Benny Otis Stanley and her children Sandra Kay Hatfield and Ronnie Keith Mullins and infant Wanda Faye Webb.

Betty leaves behind her cherished daughters, Cinda (Paul) Gildenhorn and Vikki (Todd) Smouse and grandchildren Alyssa Blair Gildenhorn, Maxwell Phillip Gildenhorn, Ryan Adam Smouse, Tyler Austin Smouse, Brady Aaron Smouse and great grandchildren Bryce (Ryan) and Luke (Max). Siblings Patty Sue Rodriguez, Buddy Roger Slone, Donny Hugh Slone, Barbara Jean Bast, Bobby Douglas Slone, Brenda Gale Slone, Lavada (Lee) Downey along with many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

A celebration of her beautiful life will be held at the home of Cinda and Paul Gildenhorn on Saturday December 16, 2023 at 4:30pm in Gastonia, NC.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or the Gaston Hospice would be a beautiful gesture.
