Barbara Kay Fortner Davis, age 76, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Born in Birmingham Alabama on June 1, 1944, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Lucile Glaze Fortner Jr. Kay was a member of Yorkwood Church of God. She worked at Bali as a packer for a number of years. Kay enjoyed playing Hand and Foot card game every night with her family. In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her husbands, Wylie Lee Owens and Daniel C. Davis; a grandson, Matthew S. Evans; son-in-love, Stephen Cleo Screws; two brothers, Ronald Fortner and James Fortner.

Kay is survived by two daughters, Donna Screws of Gastonia and Sheila Owens Jenkins and husband Charles of Kings Mountain; two sons, Chris Owens and wife Jean of Gastonia, and Brian Owens of Gastonia; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Fortner of Gastonia; sisters-in-law, Gloria Fortner of Dallas, and Stella Fortner of Gastonia; life long friends, Jean Parker of Gastonia, JoAnn Robinson of Kings Mountain, and Pat Robbins of Gastonia; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Yorkwood Church of God, 405 Old Stagecoach Road, Gastonia NC 28052 with Rev. Chris Kennedy officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
