Anna Mae McGoon Tester passed away on 9/19/2022 at the Robin Johnson
House in Dallas, NC at age 91. She grew up in Jackson, Ohio where she
developed a lifelong talent for writing poetry and prose. She married Marvin
Tester in 1956 and raised 3 children in Northern Ohio before moving to
Charlotte, NC. They spent their final years together living in the mountains of
Heaton, NC. Anna finally moved in with her youngest daughter and husband
whom cared for her over the past couple of years. Anna leaves behind sister’s
Betty Jean Walker, Louise Farrar, Shirley Chisholm, son Gary Tester and wife
Beth, daughter Lisa Jacobsen and husband Raymond, daughter Julie Lankford
and her husband Ricky, grandchildren Enola Schaff, Brooks Patton Jr., Lori Noel,
Elijah Jacobsen, Lucas Tester, Delaney Tester, and 4 great grandchildren. Anna
was a mother figure to many. In lieu of flowers please send donations to your
local Hospice. A Simple Service Burial and Cremation is serving the family.
