Amanda Merry Smith unexpectedly passed away in her home on Friday, September 10th. Mandy was born on June 30th, 1989, the daughter of Catherine Trail Smith and the late George Smith. A native Ohioan, Mandy is survived by her mother, her sister Amber Gockel, and her grandmother Peggy Joyce Smith.
Mandy is remembered as a caring friend and a devoted aunt to her niece Chyler. She loved reading and was always ready to lend a listening ear to a person in need. She had recently completed her undergraduate degree at Charleston Southern, majoring in Psychology with minors in Biology and Human Resources.
Mandy was an intelligent and extraordinarily talented person gone too soon. She had aspirations to be a published author and wanted to use her psychology background to help people struggling with mental health and addiction issues.
Our lives will never be the same without her.
